BORN 1975 • WISCONSIN • GEN X

We didn't grow up
online.
We grew up alive.

I'm Brent Schroeder — a 50-year-old Wisconsin head cheesemaker, lifelong Gen Xer, and the guy behind Let's Do This, Gen X.

No corporate motivational speeches. Just memories, laughs, stories and the occasional “how the hell did we survive that?”

Figure it out.

And somehow… we did.

THE GUY BEHIND THE CHEESE & CHAOS

From an 8-year-old kid making cheese to a Gen X voice.

I was born October 15, 1975. I've been making cheese since I was eight years old, and today I'm a head cheesemaker in Wisconsin.

But this site isn't really about cheese. It's about a generation that learned to ride bikes until the streetlights came on, make plans without a group chat, fix things because nobody was coming to save us, and laugh at ourselves when life got weird.

Through Let's Do This, Gen X, I want to build a place where Gen X can say, “Yep. I remember that,” and where the next generation can finally understand why we're like this.

THE GEN X MANIFESTO

We weren't the loudest generation.
We were the generation that showed up.

01

We remember

Before smartphones, before GPS, before every moment needed a camera.

02

We improvise

If it broke, we tried to fix it. If we didn't know how, we figured it out.

03

We laugh

Because sarcasm was practically a second language.

04

We still show up

Family, friends, work, life — Gen X keeps moving.
